Hey guys! Today is the day my favorite band was officially made. They had their first gig in Sydney Australia on December 3, 2011, and they didn't really have much like everyone thought, all they really wanted to do was make music. There were three of them, Michael the lead guitarist, Calum the bassist, and Luke the rhythm guitarist and lead singer. They were missing one thing. A drummer! Michael knew Ashton who played the drums so he called him asking if he wanted to play at their first gig at Annandale Hotel and he agreed.
So they met up and unfortunately, only 12 people showed up. To me, those are the luckiest 12 people ever. After the gig, Calum went on one knee and asked if Ashton would like to join the band. And from that day on, he stuck with them. They recorded their EP and One Direction's Louis Tomlinson shared their video on Twitter, and that was when they rose to fame. A year after, they went on tour with One Direction and recorded their first album and their album came number 1 in many countries.
They had their own 2015 "Rock Out With Your Socks Out " world tour and had "Hey Violet" another of my favorite band open their tour for them and in 2016 they will be having another tour due to their new album "Sounds Good Feels Good" which hit number 1 in 11 countries in the first week it was released. The boys have been through a lot, being famous isn't exactly glamorous but they're happy because of the loyal fans they have, and they've filmed a documentary on how these couple of years have been for them and I'll say I am truly, proud of them.
They're my favorite band because of the effort and dedication they put in their music, their newest album is for fans, who go through more than you would expect, and I think that the songs are talking about the problems we are going through, but in the last song, "Outer Space/ Carry On, I think it's the message to all of the songs, how everything will be alright. They are an inspiration to me and I love them, and I hope they will never separate!
