Solution:

6.8 x 5 = 34

7.2 x 3 = 21.6

34 + 21.6 = 55.6

75 - 55.6 = 19.4

19.4 / 2 = 9.7

34 + 21.6 + 19.4 = 75

Therefore, Willy has to score 9.7 for the next two rounds to get a total score of 75.

Speech Competition :Free Tuition

     Ever since you were a little kid you probably thought that university or college would be such a sweet getaway, but some teens don't even stand a chance to fulfill their dreams because they don't have the money but now, tuition has been announced free for all families with income lower than fifty thousand dollars . One point seven million students are enrolled in Canadian universities in a year, there are approximately thirty six million people living in Canada , imagine how many teens there are , not being able to attend university. How is my future going to look in Canada? How is your future going to look? My name is Connie and I have two siblings and my parent's income is over fifty thousand dollars, and my older brother will be proceeding to university in September. On top of that, my parents have two more kids to be concerned about . In a few years they will be looking after ailing grandparents, where are the going to find time for us? If you look at middle aged people's opinions how would they feel? The difference back then was that education wasn't for free, they had to pay for it and when they graduated, they were probably swimming in debt. If young adults got free education today, that would be absolutely unfair to the people ten to twenty years ago. But you know what they all say... something you get with no charge always comes with a price.

Television Shows

Hello friends! It's me again. You may know that some of my favourite shows on T.V are "Supernatural", "Pretty Little Liars", "The Vampire Diaries" . All of these shows will be expecting new seasons soon. Supernatural will be having a twelfth season soon, and I expect many more seasons, it is simply addicting ... I mean I watched 10 years worth of T.V in 7 months! One thing we've all been thinking of is how the show will end. Will the Winchesters get married or will they die a noble death by defeating the most deadliest monsters of the world?

    

                                          

Most of you know that "Pretty Little Liars" has been the biggest mystery for six years! We've all been waiting to know who the infamous "A" is for the longest time you can imagine. PLL finally gave us an answer. Alison DiLaurentis's transgender brother was "A", all along. Charles, Charlotte, Cece, "A" for six years we've missed the biggest clues... and everything was cleared up. But then Charlotte was murdered. And a new uber "A" now ruled over the four girls who suffered from this nonsense for years. Rumors have been flying that television star "Lucy Hale" AKA Aria Montgomery, "Troian Bellisario" AKA Spencer Hastings in PLL will be leaving after the sixth season, but the producers announced that there would be a seventh season. How will the show precede? Will they kill them off the show?
                                             

                                              

Moving on to "The Vampire Diaries". Most of you know that "Nina Dobrev" (Elena Gilbert) who had the lead role in TVD quit the show last year and we were all very devastated. The show wasn't the same anymore... we all thought that after season 7 it would be the end for the show but apparently, season 8 will be coming out in a few months. Nina Dobrev will return and finish her role in the eighth season. Michael Trevino, Steven. R. McQueen and Nina Dobrev have already left the show. Will anyone else from the TVD cast quit because they aren't satisfied with how the show is being produced?

                                          Reviewing art 

I chose this piece of art out of all the others because this one was interesting and a piece that I've never seen before. I also think the techniques are a little different from the other paintings because it looks like the paint was blotted to make the scene look more realistic, it seems as if it is raining and there is an umbrella held above the couple's heads and the ground is also wet from the rain.

I like how the blotting technique was used on this piece because it seems a lot more realistically painted which gives the painter credit for producing a fascinating piece without being careless with it. The ground glistens because of the rain and the light is also reflected which makes the piece more attention grabbing and the scene doesn't look perfect because the grass isn't all green and there are a few scattered leaves on the sides of the ground .  

What I want to know is what gallery this painting is placed in because I want to know if all the paintings by this artist has the same technique used and if this artist is still alive or has other famous paintings around. I also want to know if this painting was inspired by a real life occasion that occurred and if the painter was part of it.

Paintings tell stories, for this one, it looks like a couple is walking home from a walk in the evening . If they were walking forward it seems as if they're trying to get out of the park, but if they are walking backwards, it seems as if they are walking into a blur of darkness, most likely the woods. If they are walking towards the woods, why would they want to be there? People who are mysterious with their identity will only seem to go in the woods and the couple doesn't really look like they're criminals and criminals go to the woods to bury bodies but they don't seem to have a body in their arms so what are they trying to attempt?

I like this painting, it's simple and isn't like the other paintings where there are mystical creatures and something impossible or unrealistic. I don't like how the painting is so dark but the darker it is it gives off more mysterious vibes but if the scene occurred during daylight, it seems more brighter making people more attracted to it because of the vibrant colours. But this may not be true necessary. If this was painted when the "Starry Nights" painting by Vincent Van Gogh became famous, that would explain a lot because that is a very famous painting and has dark colours and Van Gogh also has many more paintings with dark colours because he thought the night was more beautiful than the day and maybe this artist agrees with him.

Therefore I think this painting is the most riveting out of the other ones.

Is pollution a necessary evil?

First of all, pollution is toxic to all living things on earth. The fact that we inhale this type of air is highly dangerous and it can affect us tremendously. If you look around the city we live in now versus the city 100 years ago there would be a drastic change because back then, not many people can afford cars so they took the train and rode bicycles to their destination . Nowadays, 1.2 billion people drive cars . There are about 7.2 billion people in the world, imagine how much gas consuming vehicles are around us… people that are sixteen years old are already driving and so are the elderly… but we don’t notice how serious pollution is.The fact that trees are cut down just so people can construct new homes for humans causes homes to be destroyed for the wildlife , like squirrels and birds along with other small creatures that are underappreciated . These animals are still living things like us, how would it feel if animals were ten times larger than us and dominated our world, we would probably all be dead by now, they would destroy our homes and rip our limbs apart and though I have to say that it’s bloody, but don’t we deserve it for being so crucial to them?

Water inhabiting animals must hate us too. The air makes the water toxic which ruins the atmosphere for their homes and soon when the pollution affects us and we see how disgusting we are to mother nature, we will realize that we are imbeciles for letting this happen to the animals and us. Global warming will rise and soon it will be so hot that we will all be fried by the sun and the greatest seas and oceans would dry up and it will be the great extinction for homo sapiens .When the air is containing deadly chemicals, oxygen will be limited because the trees would be sick and dying. The crops that are planted by farmers will wither and die due to the water that will be contaminated and even if they didn’t die, we would because we are the ones eating all the chemicals and who knows, our stomachs may explode.

What I’m going to talk about next is slaughterhouses which aren’t related to pollution but I feel like it is needed to be talked about. I’ve always loved animals they are extremely fascinating and majority of them are friendly if you are no harm to them, and for all these years, I’ve eaten meat and I do regret it more than a lot. If you watch how animals are killed for their meat I guarantee you, you will fall off your chair to the ground and bawl your eyes out. I hate how these animals are treated, is their suffering really worth a slice of bacon, or a chicken nugget that is over processed anyway? Animals have feelings too , but the babies are separated from their mothers, who are ready for what they have lived for their whole entire lives, they’re ready to die for their meat . Animals. They aren’t garbage, you don’t just throw them away like that and you definitely don’t treat them that way. They’re one of the most beautiful things in the world in my eyes and to see them in so much pain really , really breaks my heart. The way how people enjoy abusing them like that makes me extremely vexated because it is sadistic of them to do that. And I’d also like to mention poaching. I highly disagree with poachers because they take animals such as elephants and rhinoceros for granted just because they have humongous, ivory tusks and kill them for it. Look how big these animals are, they must be a few tonnes so wouldn’t it take more than a dozen bullets to put them down? So I will say this again and a billion more times. Animals are NOT toys and you don’t have the right to throw them around!

Back to the pollution. Therefore, pollution is technically evil since it can destroy so much of our world. We can reduce pollution by using electric powered cars and taking the bus, carpooling and walking or biking. We are an eco school and I don’t think we are inspired or care enough to take a second glance at how messed up the world is right now, and besides everyone still litters, even I do and sometimes I think “Wow, you’re so stupid, why did you just do that?” The thing about humans is that we don’t think twice before we do something and our careless mistakes are why the world will end. Let’s think twice and do something right for once!

North America Now

As you all know, Justin Trudeau is Canada's new Prime Minister, and there are many changes in our country today. There will be free university for some people but not all. I want to say that this is absolutely unfair to me because my parents will still be suffering because they will have to work for many more years to pay for me and my two sibling's tuition for university. Most families who are living off welfare will have the opportunity to go to university for free and wouldn't have to worry about working , unlike me and others who wouldn't be able to sleep at night, not knowing what to do when we have a hungry desire to go to university but we don't have enough money. Back to the welfare. People are already getting enough from welfare, food, water, shelter, money, so why should they get free education? The government has helped them enough but haven't even done much to improve the rest of our lives. My parents work hard for a living, for my family and we have just enough to support our needs. Some people who are living on welfare don't even need welfare, they are capable of getting a job but they are lazy and vulnerable which is totally unequal to people who are just like them but choose to work.  Therefore, I think that university shouldn't be free at all because you should earn what you want. Our country is in a lot of debt as well so I think they should lower the amount of money we have to pay for university, not have it all for free. By the end of March 2019, we will be more then 329 billion dollars in debt. I don't think we want that!

I would also like to talk about America. It isn't the country I live in but America is right next to Canada which makes us neighbors. Right now, America is voting for a new President and as you all know the infamous Donald Trump is running for president. Many people are voting for Trump and I don't really understand but they are voting for him as a joke, well I don't think it's funny anymore so I think America should choose wisely. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are the ones who are the ones who have the most votes and right now, the most important thing isn't about who will win (well it really is) but who will make America a better place?

This is my opinion and it isn't right or wrong. It's just what I think.
